I primarily make hand-built ceramics that explore the difference between the internal and the external. What is it within us that we are trying to protect? How do we do that? Is it effective? Is it truly necessary? What happens when you start removing defenses?
Sea life provide excellent examples of this dichotomy. Crabs, for example, are delicious. They know this and protect themselves with tough exoskeletons and strong claws.
